California Citrus Historic Park Preserves California's Rich Farm History

About 4 month(s) ago by Ayres Hotels

The California Citrus Historic Park in Riverside, CA, preserves some of the richest remains of California’s citrus landscape, which is quickly and sadly vanishing from our scenery. The park hopes to share the importance of the citrus agriculture and its impact on California’s history and development, which we at Ayres Hotels strongly support. The park serves as a time capsule to a period when “Citrus was King,” emphasizing just how significant the citrus industry is to Southern California.

Discover citrus’ history yourself by joining one of the park’s free guided “Tour and Taste” through citrus groves, where visitors will have the opportunity to learn more about the industry’s huge impact on Californian history and the ability to sample fresh fruit from right off the tree. The "Tour and Tastes" are generally given on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays at 10:30 a.m., 12:00 p.m., and 2:00 p.m. when volunteer guides are available. Be sure to come on time because tours are first-come, first-serve and space is limited.

The citrus grove oasis is a perfect landscape for a picnic, relaxing stroll, wedding, and truly any occasion. The California Citrus Historic Park strives to preserve and spread awareness about the importance of agriculture and California’s history by just simply existing and welcoming visitors to experience the beautiful, yet sadly diminishing citrus sanctuary itself.
