About 1 month(s) ago by Ayres Hotels

Mile Square Regional Park is a 607-acre, urban park, dwelling in the city of Fountain Valley in Orange County. The boundless park is home to many family activities, day adventures, sporting events, and countless facilities. Soccer, baseball, softball, cross country track meets, fishing, and archery tournaments are among a few of the many activities that can be seen taking place at Mile Square on a daily basis.

Within the park's boundaries, there are three regulation golf courses, three soccer fields, three baseball and three softball diamonds, a nature area, and most notably an archery range. The park also includes two fishing lakes, a concession operated bike, paddleboat operations, and many picnic areas and picnic shelters. Many families, group organizations, annual company picnics, and other occasions take advantage of the park’s large, inviting picnic shelters for a special occasion.

Strolling visitors will come across an executive 18-hole golf course that also includes a driving range, a coffee shop with bar, and a banquet room at Mile Square's northwest border. At the southwest border, there is a regulation 18-hole golf course that is again complete with a driving range, a club house, restaurant, and pro-shop.

One of the park’s most recognized and unique features is its archery range, the largest in Orange County. The well-equipped facility is a 6.71-acre redesigned range that includes 24 in-line shooting stations beneath a continuous metal shade canopy with 24 targets, bow racks, tables for servicing bows, perimeter fencing, north orientation, and a 20-foot safety berm. It is open to the public for use from 7 a.m. to sunset on a daily basis without any admission costs.

The Mile Square Regional Park has a long-standing relationship with the City of Fountain Valley, as 65 acres of the park located adjacent to Brookhurst is leased to the City of Fountain Valley for recreational purposes. The city has committed itself into developing that parcel of land into a high-activity, community-oriented park. The city funds specific facilities to encourage residents and guests to live out these values for community and recreation, such as a community center building, baseball diamonds, basketball courts, outdoor play areas, and a tennis court complex. The city also has provided night lighting for much of the outdoor facilities to extend playing hours.
