Southern California’s historic, four diamond hotel – Mission Inn Hotel & Spa – will be ringing in the holiday season with its 24th annual, six week-long Festival of Lights. Starting on November 25th, the holiday extravaganza will be free of charge for all spirited families to enjoy one of the largest holiday light collections in the country.

Recently awarded the “Best Public Lights Display in the Nation” by USA Today, Mission Inn Hotel & Spa’s owners, Duane and Kelly Roberts, have created an enchanted, Christmas wonderland in the heart of Riverside for its guests. The Festival of Lights attracts more than 350,000 visitors from across the world every year since the property owners have recovered the historic hotel from destruction back in 1992.

The famous “Switch-On” Ceremony kicks off the season, as families gleefully wait for the charming hotel to instantaneously be illuminated by 4.5 million holiday lights and a fireworks display. It’s the event to get anyone in the holiday spirit.

Throughout the six weeks of holiday delight, the Festival of Lights will feature more than 400 animated figures, including angels, elves and Dickens carolers; special appearances by Santa Claus; the world’s largest man-made mistletoe that measures up to 12’ x 8’; horse-drawn carriage rides; freshly fallen snow; beautifully decorated Christmas trees in the lobby and throughout the hotel; and delicious holiday desserts at the famous Casey’s Cupcakes.

The inn brings the holiday magic to children’s hearts by sending Santa’s elves to tuck the little ones in at night with a sweet bedtime story and a precious, present-filled stocking.

This year especially, the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa will be hosting a gingerbread theme throughout the hotel. Guests can book the “Gingerbread Dreams Suite” room package, gingerbread spa treatment at Kelly's Spa, three gingerbread villages located in the lobby, gingerbread turn-down service, gingerbread martini & dessert available in all four of the hotel's fine dining restaurants. Casey’s Cupcakes in particular will be featuring Glamorous Gingerbread cupcakes among its holiday confection collection.

Come, be merry, and cozy up in the historic hotel’s quintessential comforts that will be so elaborately decorated to have the entire family feeling merry and bright. Whether it is a romantic weekend away or a family affair, all will be in winter wonderland.

Ayres Hotel & Spa Moreno Valley is about a fifteen-minute drive to the Mission Inn Hotel & Spa’s Festival of Lights.
