Graber Olive House History
Spanish missionaries planted the first California olive trees in 1769 due to its idyllic Southern California climate. C.C. Graber purchased land in Ontario in 1892. In the tradition of the early olive ranchers, he too, began selling vat cured olives to neighbors and friends. By 1894 the Graber Olive House, the oldest business in Ontario, was established.
Graber Tree-Ripe Olives
The journey of the Graber olive starts at the Graber Groves in the San Joaquin Valley. The olives are grown until they mature to a cherry red color and reach full tree-ripeness. During the fall harvest the olives are picked, then shipped to the Olive House for grading, curing, and canning. Peak production generally lasts between October and December. Graber House Olives are renowned for their sumptuous, natural flavor.
