March Air Reserve Base

March Air Reserve Base History

March Air Reserve Base was founded in 1918, and is home to the Air Force Reserve's 452d Air Mobility Wing, the largest air mobility wing of the 4th Air Force. Throughout its history, March Air Reserve Base has seen action in World War II, the Korean War, and the Cold War. Also stationed at March Air Reserve Base is the Army Reserve, Navy Reserve, Marine Corps Reserve and the California Air National Guard.

March Field Airfest

Head to March Field for March Field Airfest, a biannual air show spectacular known as "Thunder Over the Empire." Aviation enthusiasts can catch the United States Air Force Thunderbirds in action as they perform daring stunts and demos. Get up close to beautiful military planes like the F-22 Raptor and F-15E Strike Eagle. A performance by the Patriots Jet Team is sure to send your heart soaring.

March Field Museum

Located next door to the March Air Reserve Base grounds is the March Field Air Museum. Come face to face with 70 historic bombers, fighters, and war planes. Aircrafts include the B-29, B-25 and P-59 fighter.
