Every May, thousands of visitors come to Old Town to celebrate Cinco de Mayo. This festival has been ongoing for the last thirty-four years and promises plenty of activities and entertainment for the whole family. Old Town’s Cinco de Mayo Festival is guaranteed to be the largest and most captivating celebration north of the border!
Old Town’s Cinco de Mayo festival will begin on Friday, May 5th at 4pm and the celebration will continue to midnight. On Saturday, May 6th the festivities will resume at 11am and proceed until 10pm -- giving you ample time to partake in all the activities. The festival will feature four stages with live entertainment, over forty bands, traditional ballet folklorico performances, a beer and margarita garden, and Low Rider Lane on the main street.
At the festival, there will be four main stages featuring exciting entertainment:
● Cafe Coyote Stage (Conde and San Diego Avenue)
● Fiesta de Reyes Stage (in the State Park)
● Cosmopolitan Hotel Stage
● Fiesta de Reyes Courtyard Stage
Each stage will offer a variety of music and entertainment. For instance, there will be a wealth of Spanish-inspired music, ranging from mariachi fusion to Latin sol. Other genres of music include a jazz guitarist and zzymzzy gypsy swing. There will also be a highly anticipated ballet folklorico competition. Lastly, the festival will feature a series of exhibitions, one of which is called “The Gift of Dance.” Make sure you check the full listing of performers online so you do not miss any of these talented entertainers.
On Saturday, May 6th, there will also be a series of activities to partake in, including:
● Petting Zoo and Pony Rides: 11am-10pm
● Lowrider Lane: 11am-5pm
● Lucha Libre Wrestling: 12pm, 1:30pm, 3:00pm, 4:30pm, 6:00pm, and 8:00pm
● Ballet Folklorico: 11:30am-3:15pm
