About 4 year(s) ago by Hotel Orange County Fair – 2013 The Orange County Fair is back! Can we all shout a little “woohoo” for this year’s fair? Nothing says summer in Orange County like a visit to the Orange County Fair. Food, carnival rides, concerts, sporting events, food, shopping, art exhibits, and MORE food abound at this year’s fair which begs all visitors to “Come & Get It!”. Never been to the Orange County Fair? Well we definitely do NOT want you to miss it again this year as it is a summer staple for many Southern California natives and visitors. Hot summer nights are paired with cold drinks, friends, and sticky food at the Orange County Fairgrounds. This year the Orange County Fair takes place from July 12th- August 11th (open Wednesday- Sunday and hours vary so check them out here), which is prime summer time for some sizzling fun. This year the fair features incredible shopping and many of the traditional competitions that artisans and craftsmen flock to, including Visual Arts, Hobby & Crafts, Culinary Arts, and Garden & Floral. It is wondrous to walk among the many exhibits and see the creativity and hard work that goes into each piece that is displayed. Speaking of creativity, let’s talk music at the Orange County Fair. The featured musical acts get better and better every single year. This year, the Pacific Amphitheatre at the fair features Colbie Callait, The Go-Go’s, Joan Jett, Counting Crows, Save Ferris, The Wanted, and many more. Basically there is something for everyone at this year’s fair, which explains why people from around the country flock to this event every year. Tickets to all of these are going fast (ahem, The Wanted) but you can try to get your hands on some here: http://www.ticketmaster.com/venue/90269/ The star of the Orange County Fair show, though, is and always will be the DELICIOUSLY bad for you and bikini body destroying featured foods! Feel like something fried? Well, the Orange County fair has everything from fried ice cream to fried Coca-Cola to fried butter available for your artery clogging needs. Craving something salty? How about peanuts, turkey legs, corn dogs and on and on and on? There are just TOO MANY delicious foods to even begin to list them all here but we will tell you that it may be a good idea to just can the tight jeans and wear sweat pants this year. Many of the Orange County Fairgrounds visitors choose to take the easy way out of the sometimes congested Cali traffic that surrounds the fair by choosing to stay at Ayres Hotel & Suites Costa Mesa. Shouldn’t you too? Especially considering their Sizzling Summer Savings prices! It’s less than a mile away and nothing will end your day of fried foods and fun better than a long snooze on an Ayres Dream Sleeper mattress. Trust us! Whether you choose to stay with us or not, though, make sure you choose the Orange County Fair this year. Your tummy will thank you.
