About 6 year(s) ago by Hotel Thanksgiving Recipe – A Blend of Culinary Traditions It's almost here! And if you are tired of the same old Thanksgiving recipes (I know I am!), Danny Godinez of Anepalco's Café has EXACTLY what you need to shake it up this season. Danny is already a pro at mingling seemingly opposite culinary traditions! Anepalco’s Café blends Mexican and French cuisines in such an unusual way it has put the little restaurant that could on the map, especially among the Yelp demographic. Danny takes this flare for the unique and applies it to a Thanksgiving recipe with a Mexican kick. Thanksgiving Recipe – Danny’s Chile Scalloped Sweet Potatoes Ingredients 2 cups heavy cream 1 tablespoon chipotle pepper puree 3 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced Salt and freshly ground black pepper Preparation
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
Whisk together cream and chipotle puree until smooth.
In a 9 by 9-inch casserole dish, arrange the potatoes in even layers. Drizzle with 3 tablespoons of the cream mixture and season with salt and pepper. Repeat with the remaining potatoes, cream, and salt and pepper to form 10 layers.
Cover and bake for 30 minutes, remove cover and continue baking for 45 minutes - 1 hour, or until cream has been absorbed and the potatoes are cooked through (top browned).
