Walk for a cure and watch the magic of giving reveal itself before your eyes at the most magical place on Earth, Disneyland® Resort. This Halloween weekend, register to be a part of the Children’s Hospital of Orange County’s (CHOC) Walk in the Park on Sunday, October 30th.
For the first time ever, the CHOC Walk takes place the day before Halloween and encourages participants to wear their costumes to make it a “spooky-fun” event for all.
Walk with your family and friends for a 5K to remember. Most certainly, bring your own personal strollers and wheelchairs. The CHOC Walk asks to bear in mind that the Park will not have stroller or wheelchair rentals.
In order to raise funds for the Children’s Hospital of Orange County to even further improve their top-notch health care programs, education, and research, the walk asks for participants to raise a $85 donation before the race. However, walkers who are the age of two and under can partake for free.
Committed CHOC walkers each come with a different story, but each arrives ready to walk with the common hope of supporting the children of Southern California’s health and overall happiness.
“We walk in the CHOC Walk to honor our lil' sweetie Timmaree and keep her spirit alive,” described one CHOC Walk team on the event’s website. “After our first year of walking in 2007, Timmaree couldn't believe that 50 people got up early and walked for her. We are honored and we know Timmaree would be so touched and feel so proud to be named the 2016 CHOC Walk Ambassador and she would be thankful for the hundreds of people that continue to walk for her.”
The opening ceremony will begin at 6:15 a.m. on Main Street, U.S.A. at Disneyland®, before the park welcomes its swarm of visiting guests. CHOC Walk information will open at 5:00 AM inside a designated Disney® ticket booth in the Disney® Esplanade, located in the center of the park.
Participants should also make sure to use their free parking eligibility at Disneyland® Park. The designated parking lots will open at 5 a.m. Also, be aware that the Disney® tram will not be open at that time. For those who need special assistance arriving to the race’s starting point, take advantage of the special vehicles that the Park provides.
The fun continues even after the race, as participants can receive special-priced Price Hopper® tickets to Disneyland®.Ayres Hotel Anaheim, Ayres Hotel Orange, and ALO Hotel are all nearby Ayres Hotels to Disneyland.
