About 5 year(s) ago by Hotel
The House of Blues Anaheim is proud to announce their annual House of Giving Thanksgiving Event for Thanksgiving 2013. On Thanksgiving Day, the House of Blues, Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County, and the Anaheim School District will team together to feed over 400 less fortunate students and families from the community in Downtown Disney at the House of Blues Anaheim. The House of Giving is an event that truly brings hope to the Thanksgiving table all set to live music coordinated by the House of Blues.  Second Harvest Food Bank of Orange County's mission is to end hunger in Orange County. The Food Bank helps feed more than 200,000 individuals each month and partners with more than 340 member charities who feed the hungry in more than 470 Orange County locations. They help feed the working poor, children, seniors on fixed incomes, single parents, the disabled, the homeless, and individuals experiencing medical emergencies or recent job layoffs. The organization constantly reaches out to the community for volunteers, with the House of Thanksgiving being no exception. Previous House of Giving Thanksgiving events would never have been possible without the hard work of generous volunteers. Volunteers are assigned to different tasks which include but are not limited to: hosting, serving food & drinks, set-up, and take-down.  The typical Thanksgiving fare will be served with a House of Blues twist. Cajun Roasted Turkey, Cornbread Stuffing/Dressing, French Green Beans, Cranberry Chutney, Garlic Whipped Potatoes will all be included in the tasty meal. Dessert offered will be assorted pies including pumpkin and apple. Volunteering is not only good for the soul but the tummy as well! Volunteers are offered 50% off food and non-alcoholic beverages in the restaurant. A choice of the traditional fare served or a Turkey Pot Pie with roasted Turkey sautéed with fresh vegetables and herbs served in a cast iron skillet with butter flake crust will be an alternative choice. The House of Thanksgiving is currently fully booked on volunteers but if anyone would like to be informed on future events please e-mail Lauren Nelson at [email protected] and include the following information:
