A "Novel" Weekend Book Festival for Avid Readers

About 1 year(s) ago by Ayres Hotels

The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books is celebrating books and bookworms alike. The festival will take place on Saturday, April 22, 2017 from 10am-6pm and on Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 10am-5pm.

Back in 1996, The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books was created to start a dialogue between those who create books and those who read books. Each year, over 150,000 people visit the University of Southern California’s campus to interact with the writers, poets, artists, filmmakers, and musicians that the festival brings together. The festival is the largest of its kind in the United States and is truly a stimulating event.

There is an exciting list of events taking place throughout the two-day festival. For instance, Saturday morning will commence with Luis J. Rodriguez’s reading from “Borrowed Bones.” And this is only the beginning of the weekend’s promising events. An expansive array of authors and genres -- everything from nonfiction to crime fiction -- are included throughout the weekend’s events. For a complete listing of the events and authors in attendance, please visit The Los Angeles Times Festival of Books’ website.

The University of Southern California will also be offering a wonderful selection of dining options during the festival. In addition to these more formal options, the following food trucks will also be available to satisfy your palate:

Belly Bombz

Boba truck

COusins Maine Lobster

Gourmet Genie

Green Truck, Inc.

HoLee Chow

India Jones Chow Truck

Jogasaki Burrito

Palazzolo Truck

White Rabbit

Harold & Belle’s

Best of all, the festival is free. However, if you would like to attend one of the indoor conversations, you will also need tickets. Conversation tickets are also free (with a $1 service charge) and must be booked online in advance.
