Be prepared to pig out on fresh ribs and watermelon at the three-day Pro BBQ Competition Music Festival and Car Show. The weekend extravaganza will be held on Friday, August 5th from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., Saturday, August 6th from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., and Sunday, August 7th 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Huntington State Beach.
The Pro BBQ Competition is sanctioned by KCBS, where guests can try mouthwatering samples from the best of the best professional BBQ teams. The festival will also feature a rib-eating contest, a watermelon-eating contest, opportunities to indulge in premium beer and fair foods, and fun activities for children. On Saturday during the event weekend, there will be the classics car show where families can jump back in time to admire antique cars.
The live entertainment line-up for the weekend includes:
- Friday, August 5th: Bluegrass and country bands
- Saturday, August 6th: Reggae Festival with Pato Banton & the Now Generation, Arise Roots, Ital Vibes, CAL1FA, Special Blend, and five other bands
- Sunday, August 7th: Blues and classic rock bands
General admission for only $9 for adults, $5 for youths, and free for children under the age of eight can be used to enter the event on all three days. Veteran and military personnel have access to free admission. Purchase tickets online in advance.
American Family Housing, formerly known as Shelter for the Homeless, is the non-profit that is hosting the competition. AFH provides a wide spectrum of housing and services to support the homeless and low-income families in the community. Their offered services and resources aim to help individuals build stability, become active members of their Orange County community, and live an overall sustainably healthy lifestyle. AFH began over 30 years ago in 1985 and has been committed to serving the Southern Californian community ever since.
