About 4 year(s) ago by Hotel Spending an afternoon listening to live music and hanging out with your best friends is hard to beat, unless of course, you throw in enjoying a wide variety of unlimited local beers. In the next few months there are two different beer festivals that have recruited an enormous amount of domestic and international breweries for a perfect weekend activity. Both the Newport Beach and Orange County Beer Festivals have a great list of breweries that can’t wait to show off their latest brews. Don’t be shy to push your boundaries by drinking a darker beer or maybe a little sweeter beer than usual, festivals like these are meant to broaden your tastes and let you try beers you might not usually enjoy at your local bar. The Newport Beach Beer Festival will be held on Saturday, May 24th. The event will be taking place on the sandy beaches within Newport Bay, making it a perfect location to enjoy a large variety of amazing brews with all your friends. Just a few of the local Southern California breweries include Stone Brewery, out of Los Angeles and Oceanside, Modern Times Brewery out of San Diego, and Eagle Rock Brewery out of Los Angeles. The current list includes 13 different Southern California based breweries with a special selection in the VIP area, but we are expecting a larger list of breweries to be released soon. The event will offer live music including The Joshua Tree, Y Luv, a local Indie Rock band out of Los Angeles, and Santa Barbra based False Puppet. General Admission tickets are being sold for $35 or $40 at the door, and VIP tickets are $50 or $60 at the door. VIP guests are granted early access to the event starting at 6pm, as well as entry to the VIP lounge featuring limited release beers from Stone Brewing Co., and complimentary cocktails from Cocktail City Vegas. General Admission guests are invited to enter at 7 pm. The Newport Beach Beer Festival is being held at the Newport Dunes Waterfront, 1131 Back Bay Drive, Newport Beach, CA 92660. The Orange County Beer Festival proceeds from the event will go towards rescuing dogs from shelters and finding permanent homes for the animals, as well as funding for food, shelter, and veterinary bills. It is a 21 and over event, which sells two different types of tickets, VIP and General Admission. VIP tickets come out to be about $55.00 and GA is $45.00.
