Indie Chef's Week SoCal - October 16th, 17th, and 18th

About 3 year(s) ago by Hotel
Costa Mesa, CA – For the first time ever, West Coast Indie Chef’s Week is being held right here at our home in gorgeous Costa Mesa, California! This three day event is unlike any other dining event you have experienced before. Guests will have the opportunity to mingle with 25 of their favorite chefs from across the country. These elite culinary artists will be showcasing their signature dishes in a pop-up restaurant format at Taco Maria in Costa  Mesa’s SoCo Collection. Both Thursday and Friday nights, twelve chefs will each present one dish which will help comprise the twelve-course menu. Although each chef has their own “flavor”, the menus will not be finalized until each chef has a chance to meet one-on-one to collaborate with one another for this dining spectacular. Indie Chef’s Week promises a variety which will impress their guests with a variety of cooking styles, talents, as well as the highest quality of produce, fish, and meats.   Jason Quinn – Santa Ana, CA Among the 25 indie chefs featured are Playground and Playground 2.0’s Owner and Chef Jason Quinn. Quinn changes his menu daily, continues to learn about food, and leads a devoted team of passionate chefs. He is devoted to his craft and, along with Playground and Playground 2.0, Quinn plans to open Dough Exchange which will be a full bakery serving gourmet doughnuts, pastries, coffee, croques monsieurs for lunch, artisan breads, custom cakes for special events, and savory meat pies. Quinn is constantly expanding and he also plans to open a lounge and craft cocktail bar above Playground where guests can relax before and after enjoying their savory and unique meal. He is working on numerous other projects. You can check out Playground and Playground 2.0 in Downtown Santa Ana by reserving via their website at http://playgrounddtsa.com/   Jason Neroni – Los Angeles, CA & New York City, NY Chef Jason Neroni is another noteworthy chef taking part in Indie Chef’s Week who has used his skills to tantalize the taste buds of his restaurant patrons from coast to coast. Neroni is considered to be a roaming chef as he has developed his talents in both Los Angeles and New York. Recently, Neroni opened a 38-seat pizzeria in Hell’s Kitchen called B-Side Pizzeria. B-Side boasts their own Pavesi oven, and uses it to grill vegetable starters and low-temperature Neapolitan-style pizzas. Neroni will be taking over Rose Café in Venice, CA along with Bill Chait. The project is anticipated sometime in 2015. Neroni is the 2012 Eater Chef of the Year winner.    Rebecca Masson – Houston, TX Pastry Girl and owner of Fluff Bake Bar in Houston, TX will be satisfying guest’s sweet tooth during Indie Chef’s Week. Masson attended Le Cordon Bleu in Paris, France in 1999 where she earned her Diplôme de Pâtisserie and, shortly thereafter, secured an impressive internship at Hotel le Bristol. Masson has been named Pastry Chef at The Biltmore Room, The Red Cat in Manhattan’s Chelsea District, and contributed her own recipes to The Red Cat Cookbook alongside owner Jimmy Bradley. Masson has been in Houston since 2006 when she was invited by Chef Ryan Pera. Houstonians have created quite the buzz over Masson’s delectable desserts.
