Back to the Wild, Wild West

About 2 year(s) ago by Ayres Hotels

For all of those still holding onto the nostalgia of the days of the Wild, Wild West and gold rush legacy, visit Calico Ghost Town in Yermo, California! Calico is an old west mining town that has been around since 1881 during the largest Californian silver strike. Back in the day, Calico had 500 mines and produced $20 million of silver in a twelve-year span. Since then, the area had been restored back in the 1950’s to look precisely as it did back in the 1880’s. Visitors make the journey in Californian time to absorb the preserved history and take in the natural settlings of this desert area with a number of different recreational activities.
