The 2017 Holiday Light Festival Train Right at Griffith Park promises a festive evening train ride around the beautifully decorated, one mile of track. As you travel around the track, magical scenes and thousands of lights will captivate you and your family, making it a wonderful activity for everyone to partake in this holiday season.
At Griffith Park and Southern Railroad, you will cover over one mile of track and your journey will take you across a bridge, through a scenic forest, and through the Old Western Town. At Travel Town Railroad you travel around the Travel Town Museum two times and after riding the train, you can explore dozens of old time railroad locomotives and cars.
The Holiday Lights Train Ride begins Friday, November 24th and continues until December 30th. It will, however, be closed on December 24th and 25th. The first train departs at 5pm every day and the last train embarks at 8pm daily.
Tickets for the Holiday Lights Train Ride cost $4 per person. Tickets can be bought at the ticket booth in Griffith Park in advance or the day of the ride, if available. Children eighteen months and under can ride for free.
If you are planning to visit Griffith Park and embark on a holiday train ride, you can also explore some of the other holiday events occuring in Los Angeles. For those planning to stay in the Los Angeles area for an extended period of time, Ayres Hotel Manhattan Beach is within close proximity.
