The 7th Annual Irvine Film Festival Returns to Costa Mesa

About 1 year(s) ago by Ayres Hotels

From January 25th to 31st, you can attend a one-of-a-kind cinematic experience: the 7th annual Irvine Film Festival. This year’s films are the pinnacle of the more than 1,000 films submitted by independent filmmakers and documentarians. From documentaries and drama to comedy and horror, there is an impressive collection of films for viewers to enjoy. Make sure you come to Starlight Triangle Square Cinemas in Costa Mesa, California to view some of these amazing films.

The short narrative, “Someone” by Marco Gadge opens the festival on Tuesday night. The film draws inspiration from a true story in Germany at the end of World War II. As the Red Army fights to control Germany, the protagonist Greta and her family take refuge in a cellar hoping to escape the Army’s merciless grasp. It is a story of unwarranted revenge that will keep you at the edge of your seat.

For some comic relief, “Streaker” by Peter Luisi tells the story of high school teacher Balz Naef, who recruits and trains streakers for illegal sports betting to get out of a financial crisis. Naef’s unusual operation coupled with his dire situation provides a wonderful balance between climatic and comic moments.

If you want to purchase tickets, same day tickets are available in person at the festival venues on a first come first serve basis. The box office opens one hour prior to the first screening each day. Alternatively, advanced tickets can be purchased for $10 -- these tickets can be collected before the screening at the festival. Regardless of whether you already have a ticket, you must arrive thirty minutes prior to your event start time to guarantee admission.

For those seeking accommodations nearby the festival, Ayres Hotel Costa Mesa is within close proximity.
