The Cleveland National Forest boasts 460,000 acres of hiking, falls, biking trails and a section of the Pacific Crest Trail. Outdoor enthusiasts of all kinds will enjoy themselves in the hidden beauty of this National Forest.

Take a step back in time in Julian, California. This mountain town, located in the Cuyamaca mountains, was founded during the 1870’s gold rush. Check out the historic buildings in Julian, take a ride down Main Street in a horse-drawn carriage, grab a slice of their famous apple pie, explore the tunnels of a real gold mine and sample the local beer and wine.

Drive into downtown San Diego and discover the city. Spend a day exploring the museums in Balboa Park, check out a game at PETCO Park, visit the Cabrillo National Monument or take a step back in time at the USS Midway Museum. For dinner, grab a bite in the trendy Gaslamp Quarter. There’s no shortage of activities in the city.

Lions, Tigers & Bears is a big cat and exotic animal rescue located just outside Alpine, on the edge of the Cleveland National Forest. The sanctuary is spread over 93 acres of land and offers species-specific habitats for big cats and bears. Experience mountain lions, servals, bobcats and leopards in their natural environment.

Head out for a night on the town at the local Viejas Casino. Located next to the Viejas Outlet Center, the casino provides high-energy gaming and entertainment. They also offer concerts, bowling, and a roller rink for families.
