Take an emotional roller coaster ride at Redlands Symphony's season opener as the acclaimed ensemble pairs the joyous, playful trills of Beethoven's Symphony No.8 with the harrowing strains of Dmitri Shostakovich's Cello Concerto No.1. Intense and powerful, Shostakovich's masterpiece is considered one of the most difficult pieces ever composed for the instrument, which here will be played by world-renowned soloist Doniyor Zuparov. Maestro Jon Robertson conducts this stirring concert, kicking off his 33rd and final season as Redlands Symphony's music director and conductor. Arrive early to enjoy a free pre-concert lecture.
