On June 15th, Pretend City will be hosting a special Father’s Day event equipped with guided activities that involve father’s and their children. Some of these Father’s Day themed activities include a fun and safe shaving cream contest, a “Tie-riffic” tie decorating activity, and many more fun filled activities. The idea behind these Father’s Day activities is to help support children’s development and creativity while enjoying each other’s company and creating memories. There is a small fee of $12.50 for this event, and no RSVP required. Building memories with your children is priceless!

Orange Empire Railway Museum

If your Father has a love for history, he is guaranteed to have a grand old time at the Orange Empire Railway Museum in Perris. The 90-acre Empire Railway Museum located in Perris, CA consists of over 200 train cars, where visitors are able to ride the trains and the trolleys. This Father’s Day, bring dad by the museum to enjoy a full parade as well as display of the museum’s collection of Pacific Electric Railway Company cars. Along with the parade, there will also be a southern BBQ lunch, consisting of BBQ chicken, baked beans, corn on the cob and peach cobbler for dessert! Admission and parking to the museum is free and riding the trolleys and trains is $12 for 12 and up, $8 for 5 to 11; four or younger is free. Ride away!

There is no better way to start off your summer than with an exciting Manhattan Beach 5k race- Father’s Day addition. Your entire family is welcome to take part in this race, which will be held on June 15th, from 7:00am-9:30am. This event will be divided into various age groups, therefore families of all ages can take part in the fun! All pre-registered participants are guaranteed a “cool beachy T-Shirt” to wear during the race which will take place and finish under the Manhattan Beach Pier. After the race, feel free to enjoy the innumerable fine bars and restaurants in downtown Manhattan Beach that you will undeniably deserve! Registration will be held on June 14th from 10:00am to 7:00 pm at Village Runner on 1840 Sepulveda Blvd.

On Saturday, June 14th, Firestone Walker Brewing Co. and Food GPS are excited to be hosting their second annual Father’s Day CollaBREWtive Brunch. This fun-filled brunch features a lineup of eight brewery-roaster pairings, as well as delicious bites offered by a dozen incredible chefs at individual food stations. This event is a fusion of local craft brewers, coffee roasters and chefs all in one exhilarating menu, perfect for the entire family to enjoy. Some exciting pairings include a creation called “Rice and Beans”, which is essentially a beer inspired by coffee-infused horchata, brewed with sweet rice, vanilla, cinnamon and coffee that was roasted by Tierra Mia in L.A. This is just one of the exciting tastings that are available at the CollaBREWtive Brunch this Saturday! General admission tickets cost $65 per person. Children ages 7-12 are $30 and children six and under are free. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
