Ayres Hotel Costa Mesa

Ayres Hotel Costa Mesa: A Treasury of Rich Family History

When Frank Ayres and his son, Don Ayres Sr., began developing Ayres Hotels in the early 1900s, little did they know that their efforts would culminate in a hotel chain unlike any other. Since they were first founded, Ayres Hotels have been famous for their friendly, efficient service and their culture of caring for their guests and team members. Although Ayres has grown and developed over the years, our hotel chain has always adhered to a strong set of core values that has allowed us to thrive.

Development in 1960-1970s

Ayres Hotel Costa Mesa was one of the first Ayres Hotels to open in Orange County, California. It was designed and executed by Don Ayres Jr. and his daughter, Allyson Ayres-D’Eliscu in the early 1980s.They intended to apply Ayres’ time-test, success-proven formula to satisfy the growing need for hotels in the Southern California area. The Costa Mesa Hotel soon became the flagship hotel for the growing collection, and for some good reasons.
